Great to see your post again. I called you Saturday and Sunday. But either no one picked it up, or someone else answered the phone with no English.

The roof of orphanage is up. Progress! Are the other smaller buildings the mug hugs you guys live in? I thought the mug hugs are in round shape, but they look like rectangle.

I was just told that a great way to prevent mosquito bite is using sesame cooking oil. Put a drop or two on your palm, and pad on arms and legs, even on your face. The mosquitos may stay around, but not close enough to bite you. It worth ti try.

heyo! the pictures look awesome! seems like a boy scout campout, but like 100 times more fun!! haha...

by the way, i was reading an article on the wsj, and it made a comment about how the financial crisis is touching all areas of the globe, except africa, and that we may see the emergence of one of the more resilient economies in africa! (even if merely because it is not as interconnected as the rest!) -- regardless, thought of you when i read that, so that's the point

p.s. i decided to drop math/econ, and i'm just doing straight econ now... sooooo i could graduate by the end of the year... haha... but that's not the plan, will milk ucla for all it's worth, will tell you more about the decision later...

Sue and Michael,
What’s up for these two weeks? How is your Swahili? Do you talk to kids in Swahili?
I called Sue again. I got “this phone is not reachable" yesterday. And today, some one pick up the phone after 12 rings, but I can't tell what I heard is English, Chinese, or Swahili. Do you have reception problem?
Fortunately, Joe, Stephen and Julia posted something this week. I assume you two are still survived. Yes, I read their blogs too, especially when I don't see yours.
Post something to feed our heart.

Jihau! Sorry it took me so long to respond to your questions.

It turns out, we have no well! The construction contractor was able to install a tap in our kitchen area so it is much easier to get water now.

The orphanage is painted and the windows are getting installed. No clue when it will actually finish.

The other orphanage we visited is in Olasiti. It is about an hour trip one-way. We found it two weekends ago and it was great! We will blog about that at some point in time, but until then, it was a good find.
